The Hindustani Covenant Church Wishes every one
A Merry Christmas and A Very Happy New Year 2006
The Hindustani Covenant Church is very much grateful and thankful to the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden, MCCS, brothers and sisters of our Churches and friends and well wishers of Hindustani Covenant Church in Sweden. The HCC is thoroughly indebted to the MCCS and brothers and Sisters of MCCS congregations and other friends and well wishers of HCC who have given out of their compassion and generosity towards the cause of rebuilding the lives of Tsunami and earthquake affected people. The MCCS and HCC has truly fulfilled the prayer of our Lord Jesus Christ by demonstrating the unity and solidarity in the rebuilding of lives. The Lord Jesus prayer was, "And the glory which you gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one." John 17:22. Thank you for the solidarity and unity in the times of dire needs and disasters. Our witness has touched the world and it was possible only because all of you have worked hard and donated generously for the worthy cause. This reminds us of Clarence Clemence friendship poem,
"Tears may come and go But there's one thing I know. All my life you're a friend of mine. You can depend on me. I'll be fine.. 'Cause you're a friend of mine.
Clarence Clemens
This cooperation and friendship has become part of ongoing cooperation in many areas. As we come close to the end of another year 2005, we realize the immense help and cooperation which developed between the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden and the Hindustani Covenant Church. This year the cooperation between the two sister Churches have taken deeper roots in the areas of evangelism and Church development as well as in the development cooperation. The year 2005 has been trying times for both the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden and the Hindustani Covenant Church. The new year brought the news of Tsunami disaster in south east Asia killing more than 325,000 people in Indonesia, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka even 500 Swedish brothers and sisters lost their lives. Our deepest condolence and sympathy to all those who lost their lives. MCCS response to the Tsunami affected people in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is so timely that within one year affected people are able to rebuild their lives. We also take the opportunity to thanks International Federation of Free Evangelical Churches who has generously extended their hand during the Tsunami.
The HCC is also deeply grateful to MCCS for responding to the massive flood disaster in Gujarat and Maharastra as well as earthquake affected people in Jammu and Kashmir. The affected people due to flood and earthquake have expressed their deep appreciation as they received medical help, cooked food, temporary shelters, safe drinking water, trauma counselling and household sets to reconstruct their lives. All these would not have been possible if timely assistance would not have arrived from the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden. The earthquake affected people in Jammu and Kashmir are so grateful that now they shelter to protect them from severe cold winds and snow. They have so much appreciation for shelter as it is providing them place to stay and warmth because of its design.
Our thankfulness to all the MCCS, Churches, friends and well-wishers of HCC in Sweden for this Christmas season. God has given His best to the world and let us give our best in the service of the people who are in need of our help. May the spirit of Christmas and New year continue as we attempt great things for God. William Carry the founder of Serampore Mission said, "Attempt great things for God and expect great things from God."
Now this is a season that people are offering gifts for the Mission Work. We see the fruits all over the world how people are benefited through the Mission Work. We have also seen the dedication, sacrificial Love, to serve the needy and marginalized people. We are very impressed by the Swedish Missionaries who has inspired us to follow the same commitment in our life. We are also thankful to Mission Covenant Church of Sweden for giving us this opportunity to serve the society.
Thanking you with warm regards!
Yours Sincerely,
Rev. S. C. David Hindustani Covenant Church India
